Will contractors use AI to communicate with me?

Some contractors use our AI services for communication. You may interact with AI systems when calling contractors or receiving messages. These AI systems are operated by Anderson SC Home Services Directory on contractors' behalf and collect basic information like your name, phone number, and service needs. You can request to speak directly with contractors instead of AI systems by asking when you call.

Will I receive marketing messages after submitting a request?

By providing your contact information, you may receive service updates, home improvement tips, and promotional offers via email and text message. You can opt out anytime by replying "STOP" to texts or using unsubscribe links in emails.

What if no contractors respond to my request?

While contractors are encouraged to respond within 24-48 hours, response times vary based on availability and project type. If you don't hear back within 2-3 days, contact us at [email protected] and we'll help connect you with available professionals.

Do contractors charge for estimates?

Most contractors provide free estimates for standard projects. However, some may charge consultation, design, or estimate fees for complex custom projects or specialized assessments. Contractors should disclose any fees before scheduling appointments. We recommend confirming estimate costs upfront when contractors contact you.

Do you guarantee the work or provide warranties?

No. We're a directory service that connects you with independent contractors. All work agreements, warranties, and guarantees are between you and the contractor directly. We strongly recommend getting written estimates, verifying insurance, and checking references before hiring.

What should I do before hiring a contractor?

Always verify licensing, insurance, and references independently. Get multiple written quotes, check Better Business Bureau ratings, and ensure they have proper permits for your project. Ask about estimate fees upfront, and never pay large amounts upfront.

Why do contractors pay deposits for my large project?

For projects over $50,000, we require contractors to pay deposits to ensure only serious, committed professionals contact you. This reduces time-wasters and ensures you get quality responses for your valuable project. You never pay these deposits - they're paid by contractors to us.

How do you protect my personal information?

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data. Your information is only shared with up to 3 matching contractors and as described in our Privacy Policy. When you interact with contractor AI services, that data is also protected under our privacy policy.

How can I opt out of AI communications?

You can request that contractors not use AI services for your communications by contacting us at [email protected] with "AI Opt-Out" in the subject line, or by asking contractors directly when they contact you.

What if a contractor doesn't show up for an estimate?

If a contractor fails to show up for a scheduled estimate without notice, contact us immediately at [email protected] with "No Show" in the subject line. We track contractor reliability and repeated no-shows may result in performance penalties or removal from our network. We can also help connect you with other available contractors from your original matches.

How do you handle emergency service requests?

For true emergencies (water damage, electrical hazards, heating failures), we expedite your request to available contractors and encourage same-day responses when possible. However, emergency services are subject to contractor availability and may have limited options. For life-threatening emergencies, always call 911 first. For urgent home emergencies, clearly mark your request as "EMERGENCY" in the project description.

How much does it cost to join the Directory?

We offer three tiers with one-time setup fees:

Basic Listing: $99 - Directory listing with contact info

Standard Listing: $199 - Enhanced listing with photos and reviews

Premium Listing: $299 - Priority placement and lead generation tools

How do performance rankings work within tiers?

Contractors within each tier (Basic, Standard, Premium) are ranked based on performance metrics including customer review scores, response time to leads, lead conversion rates, and overall customer satisfaction. This ensures homeowners see the most reliable contractors first. Rankings are updated quarterly based on performance data.

What performance metrics do you track?

We track customer review ratings, response time to new leads, lead-to-job conversion rates, customer complaint resolution, and overall satisfaction scores. These metrics help us showcase the most reliable contractors to homeowners while maintaining your tier level.

Can my ranking position change after I sign up?

Yes. While you maintain your listing tier level (Basic/Standard/Premium) as long as your account is active, your position within that tier may change based on your performance metrics. Contractors with higher customer ratings, faster response times, and better conversion rates will be ranked higher within their tier.

How do leads work and what's included?

Leads include homeowner contact information (name, phone, email), detailed project descriptions, location, timeline, and budget range when available. You receive qualified leads matching your service areas and specialties. Premium listings get priority lead distribution.

What are the response time expectations?

We recommend responding to leads within 24-48 hours for best results. Quick response times improve your success rate, customer satisfaction, and your performance ranking within your tier.

What exactly am I paying for when I buy leads?

You're paying for verified homeowner contact information and project details. Each lead includes customer name, phone number, project description, timeline, property address, and budget range when available. Payment is due within 7 days of lead delivery.

What if a lead is invalid or the customer doesn't respond?

We offer lead replacement for contacts with verified invalid phone numbers or email addresses. However, we cannot guarantee customer response rates or that they will hire you - this depends on your follow-up, pricing, and service quality.

How do the volume discounts work?

Available exclusively to Premium Tier contractors:

Buy 10 leads: Get 1 FREE lead

Buy 25 leads: Get 3 FREE leads

Buy 50 leads: Get 10% discount on total purchase

Weekly purchases: 5% ongoing discount

Volume pricing is applied at time of purchase and leads can be used over time.

Do I have to provide free estimates?

No. While most contractors provide free estimates for standard projects, you may charge consultation, design, or estimate fees, particularly for complex custom work or specialized assessments. You must disclose any fees to customers during your initial contact before scheduling appointments.

Our AI phone answering service operates through our centralized platform and handles missed calls when you're unavailable. The AI:

Answers missed calls during business hours you specify

Collects basic caller information (name, phone number, reason for calling)

Takes professional messages on your behalf

Stores caller information and notifies you of new leads

Limitations: Does not schedule appointments directly, cannot provide detailed quotes, and is limited to basic information collection and message taking.

How does review automation work?

Our AI review system operates through our platform and:

Monitors your Google Business Profile and Facebook page for new reviews

Automatically generates template-based responses to positive and negative reviews

Posts responses under your business name using approved templates

What you provide: Access to your Google Business Profile, Facebook page access (if applicable), basic business information, and approval of response templates we create.

Limitations: Responses are template-based, not custom-written for each review. Limited to Google and Facebook platforms only.

Do I need to train the AI?

No training required from you. We handle all AI management through our centralized platform.

No penalties or setup fees if you restart later

Previous configuration can be quickly restored

Important: After cancellation, you assume responsibility for any customer data collected through AI services and ongoing compliance with privacy regulations.

Can I pause AI services temporarily?

Yes, AI services can be paused for up to 3 months without losing your configuration settings. This is perfect for contractors with seasonal business patterns.
